The Edit PDF tool uses PDF.js to render your PDF pages as interactive canvases in your browser. Use the toolbar to: Add Text (click T, then click anywhere on the page), Draw (freehand lines), Rectangle/Line (shapes), Highlight (colored overlay), and Erase (white brush to cover existing content). You can also Insert Images (drag to position, resize from corner). Click Save PDF to embed all edits.
Use the Erase tool (white box icon in the toolbar). Select it, then drag over the text you want to remove. This paints a white brush over the text, effectively covering it. You can then add new text on top using the Text tool. On saving, the erase strokes are embedded into the PDF.
In the Edit PDF tool, click the 🖼 (image) button in the toolbar. Select an image file from your device. The image appears on the current PDF page. Drag to position it anywhere on the page. Resize from the corner handle (bottom-right). Click Save PDF to embed the image permanently.
Yes. Use the page thumbnails in the left sidebar to switch between pages. Each page can have its own set of edits. When you click Save PDF, all edits from all pages are embedded into the final PDF download.
Yes! Our compression is different from simple metadata removal. It renders each PDF page as a JPEG image at your chosen quality level (15%–95%) using PDF.js, then assembles these compressed images into a new PDF using jsPDF. This typically reduces file size by 40-75% depending on content. The "Recommended" preset (65% quality) gives the best balance.
Low (85% quality): Minimal compression, best visual quality. Ideal for printing. Recommended (65%): ~50% size reduction, good quality, ideal for sharing. Strong (45%): ~65% reduction, some quality loss visible on close inspection. Maximum (25%): ~75% reduction, suitable when file size is critical and quality is secondary.
Browser-based compression works by rendering PDF pages as JPEG images. This converts all content (text, graphics) into raster images. The trade-off for actual compression is that text becomes non-selectable. Use Low compression mode if you need better quality, or use the compressed PDF for display/sharing purposes.
Use the Delete Pages tool. Upload your PDF and all pages render as readable thumbnails — you can see the actual content. Click pages to select them (they turn red with a ✓). Use "Select All", "Deselect All", or "Invert" buttons. Then click Delete Selected Pages. The cleaned PDF downloads instantly.
Never. All PDF processing — editing, compression, merging, splitting, rotating, unlocking — uses pdf-lib, PDF.js, and jsPDF running in your browser. Files are never transmitted over the internet. This is true for ALL tools including Edit PDF and Compress PDF.
Yes, completely safe. Since all processing is local in your browser and files never leave your device, you can safely process confidential documents, financial statements, legal PDFs, or personal files.
